Doppler Sports
Privacy Policy
This policy describes the Doppler Sports app and the pages at dopplersports.app (the “Service”). It is the policy linked from the app. The Terms of Use are a separate contract.
1. Who we are
The Service is operated by Doppler Sports LLC, an Illinois limited liability company (“Doppler Sports,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Doppler Sports is an independent app for college basketball and college football. It is not a college, a conference, a league, or a sportsbook.
Privacy requests and account deletion go to [email protected]. Legal notices may be mailed to Doppler Sports LLC, 2501 Chatham Rd, Suite N, Springfield, IL 62704.
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers personal information we handle when you use the app, create or use an account, or open dopplersports.app. Personal information is information that identifies you or that can reasonably be linked to you, such as your name, email, account id, and the schools you follow.
Scores, standings, and other sports facts are described in Sports information. Apple, Google, YouTube, and X have their own policies for the services they run. Those policies cover what you do after you leave Doppler Sports.
3. Who may use the Service
You must be at least 13 years old. We do not want an account for anyone younger. When you check the box at sign-in, the account stores that confirmation. It does not store a birth date. See Children.
4. Information you give us
You give us information when you sign in and when you use the app. That includes:
- The Apple or Google account you choose for sign-in.
- Schools you follow, for basketball and for football.
- Games you pin.
- The betting-line source you pick, if you pick one.
- Whether YouTube TV links are on, and whether Model Lab is on.
- Models and fits you save in Model Lab.
- Notification choices stored on the account.
- How far you are in first-run setup.
- Messages you send us, including a deletion or access request.
An invite link can include a code that starts with DS-. The website can show that code. We do not keep a referral ledger, and the code does not by itself create an account.
5. Sign-in with Apple or Google
The app has no separate password. You sign in with Apple or with Google. From the provider, we receive the identifiers and profile details that provider shares. That can include:
- A name.
- An email address. If you use Apple’s Hide My Email, we receive the private-relay address Apple creates, and we treat that address as your email.
- A profile photo URL, when the provider sends one.
- A stable provider id for Apple, for Google, or for both if you link them.
We keep a name and a photo that are already on the account when a later sign-in does not include them. We also store when the account was created and when it last signed in.
Apple’s policy is at apple.com/legal/privacy. Google’s policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
6. What we store for your account
Your profile is stored in Google Firebase and is readable by your account. Another fan cannot read it. It holds the sign-in details above and the settings in Information you give us.
A separate record holds your plan role: free, or All-American when that year is active. You can read your own role. You cannot edit it. We store the plan. We do not store the card. Operator roles are separate, and a fan cannot buy one.
If a television name is missing from our channel map, the signed-in app may send that station name, the sport, a game id, and a short matchup label so we can add the station. That report does not include your name, your email, or your account id.
7. What stays on your device
The app stores some choices only on the phone or tablet. Those include appearance, school colors, which sport opens, filters, whether usage analytics is on, a local note of station names this device already reported, and caches of logos and sports data so screens can open offline. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage, removes those copies from the device. It does not delete the account stored with us.
The field compass on a football weather card uses motion sensors. It does not ask for location permission, and it does not send a GPS fix.
8. Analytics and crash reports
Usage analytics is on unless you turn it off. The control is Profile, then App Settings, then Analytics. Analytics is off in debug builds.
When analytics is on, Firebase Analytics receives events tied to your account id. Those events include the screens you open, whether a sign-in is new, the sign-in method, when you add or remove a favorite school, when you open the paid-plan sheet, when you tap upgrade or restore, and when you leave the app for a post on X. An outbound post event can include the public handle and the post id. We also record hourly counts of how much sports data the app loaded. We do not put your name or email in those events. Your plan role is stored as an analytics property.
Firebase may also receive the usual technical details of an app session: an app instance id, device model, operating system, language, app version, and an IP address. From the IP address, Firebase can derive an approximate region. We do not attach a precise location.
Release builds send crash reports to Firebase Crashlytics. A crash report can include the device model, the operating system, the app version, a stack trace, your account id, and your plan role. Turning Analytics off stops usage analytics. It does not stop crash reports. Debug builds do not send crash reports.
Google describes Firebase privacy at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
9. Information we do not collect
We do not ask you for a precise location, your contacts, your photos, your camera, a microphone, health information, or government identifiers. We do not collect a sportsbook username, a sportsbook password, or a payment card number. We do not run a social feed, and fans do not send each other messages inside the app.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with other companies so they can market their own products. We do not use it to track you across other companies’ apps and websites. The iOS privacy manifest for the app says the app does not track.
10. Sports information
The Service shows scores, schedules, rosters, statistics, rankings, recruiting information, lines, and related facts supplied by independent data sources. That material identifies teams, games, and players. It is not information you submit about yourself.
Lines, totals, moneylines, against-the-spread results, win probabilities, and Model Lab output are sports information. We do not connect them to a sportsbook account. The Terms of Use explain that this information is not an offer to bet and that Doppler Sports is not affiliated with the NCAA, a school, a conference, or a team.
11. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Create and keep your account, including Apple Hide My Email and a linked Apple and Google sign-in.
- Save favorites, pins, models, and settings, and show them when you return.
- Apply the free plan or a paid plan, and remember a role we assigned to operate the product.
- Show in-app notices you have turned on, such as game and poll cards. The app does not send lock-screen push alerts.
- Understand which screens and features are used, when analytics is on.
- Diagnose crashes and fix the app.
- Protect the Service, investigate abuse, and keep account data limited to the account that owns it.
- Answer a request you send us, including access and deletion.
- Comply with law and respond to a valid legal process.
We do not use your account, your favorites, or your saved models to train a machine-learning model for anyone else.
12. Why we are allowed to use it
If the law where you live requires a legal basis, we rely on these:
- Contract. We process account and settings data to provide the Service you asked for.
- Legitimate interests. We process crash reports, security logs, and plan roles to keep the Service reliable and limited to the right account. Those interests are providing a working sports app and protecting accounts. You can object where the law gives you that right.
- Consent. Usage analytics runs until you turn it off in App Settings. Turning it off withdraws that consent for later events.
- Legal duty. We process information when we must keep or disclose it under a law that applies to us.
13. Who we share it with
We share personal information with service providers that process it for us, and only for the reasons in this policy:
- Google Firebase, for authentication, the account database, analytics, crash reports, and the servers that prepare sports data. Google’s privacy policy is linked above.
- Apple, when you use Sign in with Apple, and when you download the app or pay on the App Store.
- Google, when you use Google sign-in, and when you download the app or pay on Google Play.
- RevenueCat, when a store key is built into the app. The current app does not include that key, so RevenueCat is not set up and does not receive your account. When a paid plan is offered, RevenueCat will receive an app user id and the store’s purchase status so we can tell that the plan is active. It will not receive your card number. RevenueCat’s policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.
The app includes Google’s Mobile Ads software. We do not serve those ads to fans. See Advertising.
We may also disclose information if we believe in good faith that the disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or a governmental request, or that it is needed to enforce the Terms of Use, protect the Service, or protect a person from harm. If we sell or transfer the Service, the account information needed to run it may transfer to the buyer, and that buyer will have to honor this policy for the information it receives.
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
14. Advertising
The free app may show our own card about a paid plan. That card is ours. It is not an ad from another company, and it does not use an advertising identifier.
Network ads are not shown to fans. Before any fan sees an ad from another company, we will update this policy. On iPhone we will ask, through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt, before any tracking across other companies’ apps and websites. Where Google requires a consent message for ads, we will show it before those ads run.
15. Payments
All-American is one year, paid upfront. The regular price is $50 a year. Through December 31, 2026, a new subscriber pays $25 for the first year, about $2.09 per month, and the subscription renews at $50 a year. Apple or Google bills it. The store processes the card, the renewal, and the refund under that store’s terms. We store the plan on the account. We do not store the card, and we do not receive your full card number. The current build has no store key, so a purchase cannot complete until that key ships. Store privacy policies cover the payment record the store keeps.
16. The website
dopplersports.app is a set of static pages. The site does not create an account, does not set an advertising cookie, and does not run third-party analytics. A valid invite code in the address is shown on the page and left in the address bar. Other query parameters are removed in the browser. We do not store the code on a server.
If the app is installed and verified, a game link can open the app before this site loads. If the app does not open it, the site shows the landing page. Store buttons stay inactive until the store listings exist. A tap is what sends you to a store. The page does not redirect you there on its own.
17. When you leave Doppler Sports
Pulse can show a public post and open it on X. YouTube TV controls can open a YouTube address. Those sites are not operated by us. What you do there is covered by their terms and privacy policies. X’s policy is at x.com/en/privacy. YouTube’s terms are at youtube.com/t/terms.
18. How long we keep it
We keep account information while the account exists. After a deletion request, we delete the sign-in and the profile, including favorites, pins, settings, and saved models. We aim to finish within 30 days.
We may keep a record when the law requires it, when we need it to prove that we completed a deletion, or when we need it to investigate abuse or a security incident. Once paid purchases exist, the store keeps its own transaction record under the store’s policy. Analytics events and crash reports already sent to Google follow Google’s retention for those products. Device caches remain until you remove them or uninstall the app.
Sports data that is not linked to your account is kept for as long as the Service needs it.
19. Security
Account documents are readable by that account. Sign-in is handled by Apple or Google. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure. Use a device only you control, and protect the Apple ID or Google account you use to sign in.
20. Your choices and rights
You can do the following inside the product:
- Change favorites, pins, line source, YouTube TV, Model Lab, notifications, and appearance in the app.
- Turn usage analytics off under Profile, then App Settings, then Analytics. The choice is stored on that device.
- Sign out. Signing out leaves the account in place.
- Use Apple’s Hide My Email, and use Apple’s or Google’s own account controls for the provider profile.
You can email [email protected] to ask for access, correction, deletion, or a copy of the personal information we hold about you. Send the request from the email on the account. An Apple private-relay address counts. Include the name on the profile if you have one. We may ask you to confirm that you control the Apple or Google sign-in so we do not disclose or delete the wrong account.
To delete the account, say that you want it deleted. We will delete the sign-in and the profile stored for that account, subject to How long we keep it. Deleting the app does not delete the account. There is not yet a delete button inside the app. Email is the way to delete.
Where the GDPR or the UK GDPR applies, you may also ask us to restrict processing or to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and you may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. You may withdraw analytics consent in App Settings. Withdrawal does not affect processing that already happened. We do not make a decision based solely on automated processing that produces a legal effect or a similarly significant effect on you.
We do not currently appoint a representative in the European Union or the United Kingdom. You can still use the email above.
21. United States state privacy laws
Residents of states with a consumer privacy law, including California, may ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, and may appeal a denial by replying to our email with the word “appeal.” We will not discriminate against you for making a request.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. Those statements are our notice for “sale,” “share,” and targeted-advertising opt-out rights. If a later version of the Service does any of those things, we will update this policy and provide the opt-out the law requires before we do.
We do not meet the current thresholds that make every clause of the California Consumer Privacy Act apply to a business. We still honor an access or deletion request from a California resident as described in this section.
22. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe we have, email [email protected]. We will delete that account and the profile tied to it.
Showing a betting line is not permission to gamble. The Terms of Use say that a person who places a wager has to meet the legal age where they live.
23. International users
We operate the Service from the United States. If you use it from another country, your information is processed in the United States and in other countries where Google operates Firebase. Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws where you live. Where the law requires a transfer tool, we rely on the provider’s transfer mechanisms and on the bases in Why we are allowed to use it.
24. Changes
We will post a new policy on this page and change the effective date. If a change materially expands what we collect, or who we share it with, we will also give a notice in the app before that change applies. The version on this page is the current policy.
